Signing a bilateral MoU between rail managers of I.R.Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan

 Teharn, RAME UIC: Director General of International Affairs Bureau in the Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran (RAI) informed of signing of a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between rail managers of Islamic Republic of Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan on the sidelines of a the Quartets meeting in Baku for launching the passenger train of Tehran- Nakhchivan. This rail line is going to be launched with the name of Tehran- Nakhchivan track. 

It was determined that technical and passenger authorities of the two countries hold a joint meeting during the next month for making the related arrangements and launching this rail line and discussing on trains departure graph and the ticket price.

Currently, necessary infrastructures and rail are provided for the train departure from Tehran to Nakhchivan. Passenger trains pass from the route of Tehran- Tabriz- Nakhchivan for traveling to Nakhchivan.

Locomotive and wagons bogie must be replaced for passing the train from the border of the two countries. Abbas Nazari stated that the passengers who want to enter Iran from Azerbaijan get off Azerbaijanʼs train and they are moved to Iranʼs trains to go to Tehran. Also, Iranian passengers must change the train to travel to Azerbaijan. 

It is anticipated that this train acquire interests by great number of people and it will be occupied appropriately.
