Saudi Arabia: Polytechnic to provide railway-related courses to young people

TEHRAN, Jan, 29 (UIC RAME) - According to Saudi Railway Polytechnics General Manager Abdul Aziz Al-Sugair, Saudi Railway has taken about 50 graduates from the polytechnic into the company. The role of training young people in railway jobs was highlighted by Saudi Railway Polytechnic during the Eighth Technical Conference and Exhibition in Riyadh. A new polytechnic will be set up to provide young people with more job opportunities and nationalize the transport sector, according to the Public Transport Commissions head Rumaih Muhammad Al-Rumaih. An institute for railways will be established under an existing agreement with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, allowing young Saudis to specialize in areas such as railway maintenance, communication, locomotives and control.
